      A fifty year old prize winning family recipe. La Rue, Texas. Kit makes 2 qts. See back for easy directions. All natural spices. You decide how hot. Chili seasoning yields 8-8 oz. Sevings. Ballow’s Famous award winning Texas chili has been a family recipe for over 50 years. It had it’s beginning in Ballow’s country cafe in the small East Texas town of La Rue, just East of Dallas. It's fame spread after winning a Texas Chili cook. Off. Once folks had to travel to East Texas to enjoy this great chili recipe not anymore. This recipe, a closely guarded secret, has never been available commercially until now. Preparing homemade chili with consistent flavor and quality will make you a winner with your family and friends - every time.

      Ingredients

      Chili Powder, Flour, Sugar, Salt, Paprika, MSG, Season Salt (Salt, Chili Powder, Celery Seed, Nutmeg, Coriander Seed, Msg, Onion, Paprika, Cornstarch, Garlic, Silicon Dioxide, Annatto) Garlic, Onion, and Cumin.

      Directions

      Easy Directions: Combine ingredients in package with: 2 lbs. Course ground beef + 1 lb. Ground sausage (hot or mild), 1-8 oz. Can tomato sauce (optional), 4 cups of water. (1) Sear 1-lb. Ground sausage, 2-lbs. Coarse ground or chili meat (Lean beef, chicken, turkey, venison or meat of your choice) in large skillet or sauce pan; (2) Stir in package No 1 (For hotter-than-blazes chili, add 1-tsp. Red pepper). Add one 8-oz. Can tomato sauce (optional) and 2 cups water. Simmer 25 minutes. Stir occasionally and drain off fat as needed; (3) Remove from heat. Add package No 2. Mix well with meat. Add 2 cups water. Return to low heat. Cook another 20 minutes. If desired, add 15 oz. Can of beans or diced tomatoes (drained). Ballow’s Famous Texas chili may be refrigerated or frozen for future enjoyment. Low fat chili see our recipe below (Low fat recipe: use 3 lbs of lean meat and omit sausage).
